WHATS NEEDED
At WBC Muay Thai New Zealand, our mission is to promote the growth of female Muay Thai by providing opportunities for female fighters to train, compete, and be recognized as professional athletes. Services
At WBC Muay Thai New Zealand, we aim to provide a supportive community where female athletes can thrive both inside and outside of the ring. We understand that the world of combat sports can be intimidating, especially for women, but we believe that by providing a safe environment and promoting inclusion, we can help grow the sport for everyone. Our team is composed of passionate individuals who want to harness the power of Muay Thai to empower women and promote health and fitness.

Find Your Ideal Weight Range
At WBC Muay Thai New Zealand, we understand the challenges that female fighters face in the sport, especially when it comes to finding the right matches. Many times, female fighters struggle to find the right opponent in their weight range as coaches can often set an unrealistic weight class, which is difficult to achieve. We believe in empowering female athletes and want them to feel comfortable voicing their preferences for fights, our matches are carefully selected to ensure that fighters can showcase their talents and have a fair battle in the ring.

protective gear
We Here at WBC Muay Thai NZ we believe in looking after our bodies. While protective gear has typically not been applicable to females competing in Muay Thai it is available. Gone are the days of bulky chest and groin protection. Modern chest protection can consist of something as simple and low key as putting plastic inserts into your own crop top, in the cavity where the foam inserts sit. Alternatively, you can now get crop top chest protection all in one. Lobloo is a Scandinavian initiative and they produce the world’s only body conformed groin protection. So comfortable you won’t even know you are wearing it and definitely not visible through your shorts! Getting a wayward strike to the chest and or groin area is different for all, some people it causes a lot of pain and others not so much. Either way, wearing some undercover protective gear will take away any worries on that front. While not compulsory, WBC does encourage the use of protective gear for our female athletes.
