Progressing from Level 1, this course was based on actual judging criteria, explanation of decisions and breakdown of scoring. Achieving this course, you are now eligible to shadow judge WBC NZ Muay Thai officials.

2024 was a busy time for our officials team rolling out seminars/courses for WBC NZ Muay Thai judging and scoring. The level 1 course was aimed to educate individuals on general scoring techniques for Muay Thai.

We are delighted to announce in conjunction with WBC MuayThai Australia that the Oceania title option has returned 🏆
This will increase options for those who have gained WBC champion status in Oceania and further oppourtunity for fighters of both countries. These belts will sit above a National title and below an International title. Please read conditions of application below:

1) Titles must be between an athlete from Australia and NZ primarily. Inter country titles will be assessed on a case by case basis.
2) You must have held a regional or national WBC pro title to be eligible to fight for an Oceania title.
3) ⁠ All championship agreements as per WBC pro rules. There is a 45 no fight condition. The title will be vacated if a loss by KO/stoppage in the weight category you hold the Oceania title in regardless of where the loss happens. Title defences as per WBC pro rules. Safety weigh-ins will be required as per WBC protocol.
4) Agreement on eligibility solely by mutual agreement between the Australian and New Zealand WBC Chairmen
5) Pricing & sanctioning costs to be as per international titles. Oceania sanction fee is $300 usd. The Oceania WBC Oceania belt cost $1100 usd.
6) Further advice from head office is required on what impact an Oceania title would have on a world ranking. The Oceania title holder will be listed on the WBC rankings page
7) All bouts either male or female to be fought over 5 x 3 rounds.
As long as both camps and combat sports commission agree with female round lengths e.g. SAT rules for MuayThai are 5x2 for female
8) If the belt is an Oceania title it will encompass the geographical region in the South Pacific Ocean, encompassing thousands of islands, including Australia, New Zealand, and the various island groups of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. Providing that applicants meet the qualification requirements.

Hey every one, please please please if you want to see yourself, your students or mates on the most prestigious and only ranking system in nz.
SEND IN YOUR RECORD.
While we try to accomadate everyone, we spend hours gathering results from shows, entering them (this is well over 1500 fighters currently) and then sorting through in line with WBC protocol for ranking, it could be made easier by fighters and coaches keeping us updated via a very breif message.
The ability to submit records has been available online for 12 months so please play your part also 🙏🙏
Remember:
You wont be entered in a weight class until youve fought at it recently, and you can only be in one class.
You need to keep us updated.
Your fighters wont be considered if you havnt sent a record or they are inactive.
